JG Formwork is a specialist formwork contractor providing professional formwork solutions across the commercial construction sector, with a willingness to undertake selected residential projects.
We provide labour, materials and complete formwork packages, allowing us to work flexibly with clients and main contractors to meet the individual requirements of each project.
From straightforward structures to more complex and detailed formwork, we approach every project with the same level of care, precision and commitment.
What we do
A full range of traditional and system formwork.
Whether you need us to supply labour only, labour and materials, or take on the complete formwork package, the scope below is what we set out, pour and strike.
Concrete slabs
Ground-bearing and suspended slabs, including edge shuttering, kickers and construction joints.
Ground beams
Beam shuttering set out to line, braced against the pour and struck ready for following trades.
Radial formwork
Curved and circular forms built to radius — plinths, tanks, chambers and radiused walls.
Concrete frames
Frame formwork sequenced around the reinforcement programme and the wider construction sequence.
Columns
Square, rectangular and circular column forms, plumbed, clamped and braced before the pour.
Service pits
Pits, chambers and sumps, including formed penetrations and blockouts cast in on the first pour.
Swimming pools
Pool shells and surrounds formed in-situ to the required profile and finish.
Concrete stairs
Flights, landings and soffits formed to the designed rise and going, with clean arrises on strike.
Traditional formwork
Timber and ply forms built on site — the answer for one-off geometry and detail that panels can't make.
System formwork
Proprietary panel systems ganged, aligned, propped and struck to keep the programme moving.

Project 01
Core walls and climbing formwork
Vertical lifts to an in-situ concrete core. Bracket-mounted working platforms and soffit tables climb with the structure, carried on cone anchors cast into the lift below. Wall panels are set, plumbed and tied off the platform, with starter bars left projecting for the lift above.
Project 02
Radial plinths, MCC slab and pit walls
Circular plinths formed to radius in traditional timber, braced and poured alongside a motor control centre base slab and in-situ pit walls. The plinths were struck to a clean, uniform as-struck finish with a consistent arris around the full circumference.
Project 03
Stormwater pit structures, airfield infrastructure
In-situ reinforced concrete stormwater pits formed on a live airbase, using ganged system panels and traditional forms. Circular pipe penetrations and blockouts were set true and cast in on the first pour, with lid slabs formed off a propped deck and headwall runs carried across the airfield works.

Our aim is therefore to deliver our work efficiently, safely and to programme, while maintaining the quality expected from a specialist formwork contractor.

With 8 years of industry experience, we have worked on and managed projects across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, giving us valuable experience across a wide range of construction environments and formwork requirements.
That has allowed us to develop a strong understanding of different construction methods, working environments and project requirements. Having both worked on and managed projects, we understand the importance of planning, coordination and maintaining a high standard of workmanship throughout every stage of construction.
